Lurch

Our society is lurching from one crisis to another. 
The reek of poverty rose to enfold them all. 
Forbearance is far greater than violence. 
We have to inveigh against academic corruptions. 
My PhD is going to finish soon and jobs are in the offing.

With the concierge's aid, the man had been murdered.  The corrupt politicians are engaged in senseless recrimination.  They try to use her innocence as a leverage to gain sexual favour.

Enervation

James Thomson in "The Castle of Indolence" portrays a setting where the dwellers confront moral enervation due to their indulgence in luxury.   The woman is of tawny complexion.  Looking at Alec's murdered body, the landlady had goose flesh.  We bristle at the prospect of another interview.  She was wearing a beige skirt.
