Serenade

Hermeneutics suggests that the reader should first reach a strong foothold in understanding the text before analysing it. 

Gulliver's Houyhnhnm master with his fellow members engage in a long descant. 

In the land of the Houyhnhnms, there was no controvertist the like of whom is detested heavily by Gulliver.

Gulliver informs that the Houyhnhnms utilize their hooves and frogs as hands and can even weave cloths with a needle. 

The serenade of a Houyhnhnm is not rotten with emotion, but balanced with reason.

With the concierge's aid, the man had been murdered.  The corrupt politicians are engaged in senseless recrimination.  They try to use her innocence as a leverage to gain sexual favour.

Enervation

James Thomson in "The Castle of Indolence" portrays a setting where the dwellers confront moral enervation due to their indulgence in luxury.   The woman is of tawny complexion.  Looking at Alec's murdered body, the landlady had goose flesh.  We bristle at the prospect of another interview.  She was wearing a beige skirt.
