While reading Lamb's essay, the reader's interest in the subject is swamped by Lamb's personal opinions. 
Lamb obtrudes in his essays too much. 
I have to deal with incommensurable works now. 
His hobby is to collect and store antiquarian stuff.

With the concierge's aid, the man had been murdered.  The corrupt politicians are engaged in senseless recrimination.  They try to use her innocence as a leverage to gain sexual favour.

Enervation

James Thomson in "The Castle of Indolence" portrays a setting where the dwellers confront moral enervation due to their indulgence in luxury.   The woman is of tawny complexion.  Looking at Alec's murdered body, the landlady had goose flesh.  We bristle at the prospect of another interview.  She was wearing a beige skirt.
