Due to his inimical attitude, we don't talk with him. 
That he is a learned man does not ensure that all his claims are veridical. 
He enters the room in a slinky manner.

Enervation

James Thomson in "The Castle of Indolence" portrays a setting where the dwellers confront moral enervation due to their indulgence in luxury.   The woman is of tawny complexion.  Looking at Alec's murdered body, the landlady had goose flesh.  We bristle at the prospect of another interview.  She was wearing a beige skirt.
