Bandicoot

The elder artist called Tarun a bandicoot.

The elder artist is full of vanity and thinks that the other two are merely microbes in front of him. 
Swarup first cottons on that they might be called on there to fight against each other and might not survive.

Enervation

James Thomson in "The Castle of Indolence" portrays a setting where the dwellers confront moral enervation due to their indulgence in luxury.   The woman is of tawny complexion.  Looking at Alec's murdered body, the landlady had goose flesh.  We bristle at the prospect of another interview.  She was wearing a beige skirt.
