This Blog

This blog is like a diary to me. I try to frame sentences by using the unknown words I write down with synonyms everyday. But there are some words which I fail to apply as they happen to be so out of context that I cannot drag them to get relevant or topical. For instance, this word enthalpy. It means a measure of the heat content of a chemical or physical system in thermodynamics. But sadly I do not have anything to do with that branch of studies. Still, I endeavour all the times incessantly to liaise a word with a sentence. Often some wonderful thought pops up or transpires due to this relentless effort. No doubt, it is a serendipitous effort. This particular word 'serendipitous' was being used today frequently by Prof. Sekhar Bandyopadhyay in the conversation with Dr Anirban Bandyopadhyay. It was really an enthralling session whence I come to learn about many unknown things. I also asked a query about the difference between assimilation and integration, the context of which he himself has evoked during the course of the conversation. He was so humble a person. It was so facile to get gravitated to his humility. Prof. Bandyopadhyay was replying every question with not frail argument. Rather, his all answers were infallibly bolstered by facts and statistics. It was not simply a mere panoply of knowledge. But he was sincerely applying his data to ground his arguments. We are apprised about so many things of history that we feel indebted to him and the Department of History, Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, for organizing such a brain-storming session. Nandita Mam is so generous and modest. I never hesitate to talk with her. She never hurtles me to do anything. Her affect to share her intimate truths of life is what strikes me most. It is palpable that the bough with innumerable fruits bows down easily.
