Ramblings on Pleasure and Happiness and Money etc. etc.

The unitary world opines that money cannot buy happiness, though most of the people practise the opposite. There is a solidarity in one respect in humanity - pursuit of pleasure. Everyone desires autonomy in life, but it is virtually impossible to obviate the axiomatic heteronomy. Very few dare chase the rhapsody of their dreams, wherein pervades the long-term happiness. Most of us, the rabblers, inure ourselves to maintain our upbeat spirit by some hallucinogenic drops of pleasure.

With the concierge's aid, the man had been murdered.  The corrupt politicians are engaged in senseless recrimination.  They try to use her innocence as a leverage to gain sexual favour.

Enervation

James Thomson in "The Castle of Indolence" portrays a setting where the dwellers confront moral enervation due to their indulgence in luxury.   The woman is of tawny complexion.  Looking at Alec's murdered body, the landlady had goose flesh.  We bristle at the prospect of another interview.  She was wearing a beige skirt.
