I felt uncomfortable by his unctuous smile. 
He hates his wife because she has become frigid. 
I don't want to partake of this package. 
He was gawping like a nincompoop. 
She was doing puja in a perfunctory manner.

With the concierge's aid, the man had been murdered.  The corrupt politicians are engaged in senseless recrimination.  They try to use her innocence as a leverage to gain sexual favour.

James Thomson in "The Castle of Indolence" portrays a setting where the dwellers confront moral enervation due to their indulgence in luxury.   The woman is of tawny complexion.  Looking at Alec's murdered body, the landlady had goose flesh.  We bristle at the prospect of another interview.  She was wearing a beige skirt.
